Attending the Telefon Tel Aviv concert yesterday motivated me to do a little electronic show of my own at coffee shop type venue. I’m nowhere close to figuring out what songs to play or how I’m going to play them. However I did come up with some things to say between songs. Note: I these aren’t funny, that’s the point, Mr. point-out-obviousness-in-comic-book-guy’s-voice-kind-of-person.
Things to say between songs.
- I wasn’t supposed to play that song.
- Electronic music is an easy gig, just hit play on itunes and check your facebook while twirling a knob or two.
- Why isn’t anyone dancing?
- Stop clapping the song’s not over.
- Feel free to flash me
- If you don’t like my music please complain to the venue, they hired me and forced you to pay.
- If you do like my music you should seek counseling.
- I will be selling cupcakes in the back
- To the guys that are holding their girl in front of them so they don’t accidentally rub elbows with another guy: I would not worry about having your girl stolen by the guy next to you, you should actually be worried about holding your girl too close to my manliness, she might not come home with you.
- goodnight.
You can use these at your show if you’d like. Creative Commons and all that junk. Or you could make your own.
I’ll post something serious next time. Sorry about the photo Josh, you are very down to earth and make great music. AM-I-RITE?

It’s September and we are forced to part from whatever remains of summer. For most this is a sad departure and in a way it holds true for me. Yet I am looking forward to trying out new things. Yes, this sounds like typical cheesy renewal post. And I’m okay with that. Anyway, here are a few things that I want to accomplish sooner than later.
Take photos in more interesting places
I very much enjoy taking photos. And to tell you the truth taking photos around Boston has grown a bit stale. I feel the need to branch out and get to know new locations. I’ve been fascinated lately with “urban exploration” (UE). I’m attracted to the way abandonment creates decay. It’s beautiful in many ways. Here is a great example of some UE at Norwhich State Hospital. There is an element of fear combined with curiosity.
Blog More
Not much explanation needed here. I just feel like blogging is a great exercise in writing and creativity. I need to find interesting things to write about and voice my opinion on things. I usually have a lot to say about things – I just never say them. And if I cannot find anything interesting to write about I have to go out and do interesting things, I guess. What?
Create More
Lately it has been very difficult to get myself to do something creative. Although, perhaps it’s wrong of me to try to force this creativity. Either way I’m making an effort to sit down, turn off the distractions, stop dicking around the Internets, and get to work. I’m employing a semi-organized system by setting aside time for certain activities and inputting them on Google Calendar. Time is set aside for photography, music, writing, illustration and other things. Again this is just an idea I came up with a few minutes ago so well see how the implementation of this system goes along.
I have a few other projects in mind that I wish to accomplish with other people. I’ve found it hard to find other likeminded people (with no lives) to work with. But then again it’s not like anyone reads any of this.
Here’s to the fall.
